How it works

Vehicle collection

Maximise driver convenience

With comprehensive UK coverage, vehicle collections can be accommodated from anywhere on the mainland and for an additional fee, Northern Ireland and Isle of Wight. Requests can be made via phone, email or by our mobile friendly website iManage. Each request is processed by our experienced team who have a detailed understanding of the entire logistics process.

Our team of experts will confirm the collection date and location, and provide your driver with advice about the BVRLA Fair Wear and Tear inspection guidelines. This will help them understand the standards to which vehicles are assessed.

At the point of handover, a full inspection of the vehicle is undertaken by an accredited inspector in line with the BVRLA's Fair Wear and Tear guidelines. Following this inspection, the driver will receive a printed report of the inspection findings. Once the inspection and handover are complete, our collection agent will transport the vehicle back to a designated GE location in preparation for sale.

Key for key collection

A single 'handover' experience for your drivers

Should you choose GE to manage your new vehicle order process, on delivery of a new vehicle by one of GE's approved dealers we will coordinate the collection of the returning vehicle at the same time. As part of the pre-delivery check, the dealer will verify return vehicle details with the driver and we will also email the driver a checklist of the most common areas to consider prior to exchanging vehicles, along with a link to BVRLA Fair Wear and Tear guidelines.

At the point of handover, our agent will carry out an inspection of the return vehicle noting any obvious areas of damage and missing items whilst recording the time and date of the vehicle handover. Once the handover process is complete, the supplying dealer will transport the return vehicle to a designated GE location where an additional full vehicle inspection is undertaken to the BVRLA Fair Wear and Tear standard.

Vehicle inspection

Complete visibility of vehicle condition

All inspections are carried out by industry experts using the latest handheld technology. For every item of damage that is captured, a high quality digital image is taken using advanced software that enables industry-leading quality images as well as fast transfer of the data from the handheld device to the Internet via GPRS.

Digital images are also taken of the interior and exterior of the vehicle, the service book, other relevant documentation and the odometer. The completed inspection reports and corresponding digital images are available online within 48 hours of the inspection having been completed, and can be viewed by customers at no cost via our dedicated online portal.

Technology

Control and reassurance through real-time tracking of your vehicles

Through our online, real-time vehicle remarketing system, we are able to swiftly and precisely track the movement and location of your vehicles as they move through the remarketing process. This provides us with a direct interface between GE and our auction partners.

Not only does this technology give us the reassurance and control we need when managing large volumes of vehicles, but it also enables us to:

  • Gain clear visibility of how our remarketing sites are performing
  • Monitor stock days
  • Make informed decisions about how best to manage our inventory and where to sell it

Real time visibility of the age, volumes and location of stock allows us to scrutinise vehicle data with the ultimate aim of reducing cycle time and increasing sales value.

Bespoke customer reporting will evidence the sales performance of your vehicles including: number of days to sell and performance versus CAP (industry standard independent benchmarking), a detailed trend analysis and comparisons of your fleet versus the wider GE market performance.
