About Elinor

In April 2009, Elinor was named HR Director for GE Capital EMEA - UK, after having held the title of HR Leader for Capital Solutions UK since May 2008. This integrated business includes Corporate Lending, Fleet Services and Equipment Finance.


From 2006 to 2008, Elinor served as European HR Director, GE Commercial Finance, Fleet Services, with responsibility for approximately 1,500 employees based in 11 countries across Europe. As a result of the Capital Solutions Integration, she also assumed the role of HR Integration Leader for Europe.


Elinor came to GE Commercial Finance at the beginning of 2003. She spent a year working with the Structured Finance Group as HR Manager for all European-based employees (during which time she integrated the newly acquired ABB employees), and then moved to Corporate Financial Services as HR Manager for the newly created European Leveraged Finance Business. Previously, she had been the HR Manager for GE Capital Aviation Training, a recently acquired subsidiary of GE Capital Aviation Services.


Elinor first joined GE in 1989, with GE Information Services in London. In 1995, she moved to GE Commercial Finance, Vendor Financial Services (now Equipment Finance). She spent five years with Equipment Finance in London, holding positions of increasing responsibility - including with Compensation & Benefits, Staffing and Generalist HR.


Concurrent with her leadership position at GE Capital, Elinor led the GE UK HR Council for a period of 2 years until February 2012. In this role, she was responsible for driving a single HR strategy for the around 17,000 GE employees in the UK. During 2011, she led a key initiative to introduce pension changes and flexible benefits to all GE employees in the UK. In addition, Elinor spent 7 years, from 2003 to 2010, as a trustee of the GE pension plan.


Elinor holds a Masters Degree in Human Resources from the University of Westminster and a Diploma in Personnel Management from Thames Valley University. She is a longstanding Member of the Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development.
